Accessibility statement

We strive to provide accessible, high-quality care for everyone – regardless of who you are or where you live. In addition to our efforts to make healthcare more geographically accessible, we continuously improve our services from both a user and accessibility perspective.

This accessibility statement applies to mindlercare.com/nl/ as well as to Mindler’s mobile application for iOS and Android.

This document was last updated at 2025-06-27.

How do we work with accessibility?

  • We conduct regular user testing to improve the accessibility of our services, and identified shortcomings are continuously addressed.

  • We collect feedback from our users to ensure that our development meets their needs, expectations, and preferences.

  • Our goal is to follow established accessibility frameworks, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Known accessibility issues

Mindler currently complies with the majority of the guidelines in WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

We have identified some accessibility issues on mindlercare.com/nl/ and in our apps for digital healthcare visits on Android and iOS.

We are actively working to address these issues.

The following are the known accessibility issues in our service:

Content:

  • Some text, graphic elements, and interactive objects have insufficient contrast, which affects readability and accessibility.

  • A few graphic elements and icons lack descriptive text, which impacts accessibility.

  • Users who increase text size beyond the default limits set by Android or iOS may find the content harder to read, reducing accessibility.

  • Video consultations do not currently include subtitles, which may make them difficult to follow for users with hearing impairments.

Screen reader compatibility

  • Mindler supports the use of third-party screen readers such as iOS VoiceOver and Android TalkBack. However, navigation can be difficult on some screens because certain graphic elements lack descriptive text.

Voice control compatibility

  • Some buttons or elements may be difficult to navigate using voice control tools such as Voice Control on iOS or Voice Assistant on Android.

User Navigation and Orientation

  • Our mobile app for Android and iOS supports portrait mode only.

Contact with Customer Service

  • For contacting our customer service, we use a third-party system. In this system, it is not possible to increase the text size via iOS or Android, which means that people with impaired vision may find it difficult to get in touch with our customer service. If you experience this issue, we recommend contacting our customer service via email at info@mindler.nl.

Report errors

We strive to provide care for everyone and would love to hear if you experience any shortcomings in our services. If you notice issues not described on this page, or if you feel that we are not meeting the required standards, you are warmly encouraged to contact us through our customer service. You can reach us at our email info@mindler.nl. Your feedback helps us identify and address problems in our service.

Regulatory supervision

The Information and Heritage Inspectorate (or Inspectie Overheidsinformatie en Erfgoed) is responsible for supervising compliance with the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services. If you experience accessibility issues with our digital services, you can file a complaint with the inspectorate. Click here to go to the complaint submission page.

You may also contact Information and Heritage Inspectorate if you:

  • Believe that our assessment of what is unreasonably burdensome should be reviewed.

  • Think that our accessibility statement contains deficiencies.

  • Feel that we have not handled your request for access correctly.

How have we tested?

We have manually tested both our website and mobile app using third-party tools such as Accessibility Inspector and Lighthouse. The tests were based on our own review as well as valuable input from our users, to ensure that the services work as well as possible for everyone.

Most recent testing was made 2025-06-23.
